Wilkes Central 36, West Iredell 20 The Wilkes Central Eagles used a late third quarter safety and two fourth quarter touchdowns from Justin Parsons to turn a one-point deficit into 36-20 win against West Iredell in Statesville on Friday night. Down 20-19 with less than 30 seconds left in the third quarter, a bad snap by the Warriors on fourth down resulted in a safely to put the Eagles ahead. From there, Parsons scored on touchdown runs of 80 and 35 yards to put the game out of reach. Both scores came on the first play of their respective drives. Parsons added a 20-yard touchdown run and 37-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Camden Wyatt in the first half. Wyatt also connected with John Durham on a 19-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Quarterback Dillan Davis had a hand in all three of the Warriors' touchdowns. The junior found Xavier Little on a pair of touchdown passes. He also rushed for a 9-yard score to give West Iredell a one-point lead with 8:32 left in the third quarter.
